Jennie Jiang

Jennie Jiang is a senior researcher at AIR. She has led several large mixed-method studies on accountability, assessment policy, organizational practices, and data use. She has also designed and led several qualitative studies to understand participant experiences with and implementation of policies and programs. Jiang is the project director of a mixed methods project funded by the Institute of Education Science evaluating the Illinois State Board of Education’s social-emotional learning pandemic recovery programs.

Jiang supports leaders at state education agencies and local education agencies in understanding research and improving knowledge utilization. Jiang is the partnership manager for the Regional Education Laboratories Midwest, facilitating studies and projects focused on diversifying the teacher workforce. She was the co-principal investigator of the District-Level Supports Associated with Retaining Teachers in Michigan School Districts study which examined the relationship between teacher retention and the supports available to teachers. She supports and trains researchers in both qualitative and quantitative methods and research practices. Jiang has worked closely with school districts, states, and community organizations to translate research findings to be actionable, understandable, and relevant to improve programs and policies.
