CARPE Presents: Leveraging 'Nudges' During Social Distancing

On June 2, 2020, the Center for Applied Research for Postsecondary Education (CARPE) at AIR hosted a webinar focused on the use of behavioral science ‘nudges’ in postsecondary settings during social distancing.

The webinar featured presentations by Professor Eric Bettinger of Stanford University, Principal Researcher Christina LiCalsi of AIR, and Associate Professor Lindsay Page of the University of Pittsburgh, about the opportunity to leverage text messaging interventions and other virtual ‘nudges’ towards the goal of increasing college enrollment, persistence, and credential attainment.

Following the presentations, CARPE Director Alexandria Walton Radford facilitated a discussion with Bettinger, LiCalsi, and Page about nudges and how education institutions can leverage this intervention during a time of social distancing and closures.
