Professional Learning Community Resources to Support English Learners

On Wednesday, December 7, 2016, join AIR for a free webinar on resources to assist professional learning communities in building their knowledge of evidence-based strategies to support English learners.

The webinar will provide an overview of the Professional Learning Communities Facilitator’s Guide developed for use with the Teaching Academic Content and Literacy to English Learners in Elementary and Middle School practice guide, produced by the What Works Clearinghouse. (Both resources are available at no charge online.)

The facilitator’s guide employs a five-step cycle that encourages professional learning communities to debrief, define, explore, experiment, and reflect and plan. The guide introduces research-based concepts for teaching English learners over the course of several sessions, supplemented with activities, readings, handouts, and a series of 23 videos.
