Amy Young

Principal TA Consultant

Amy Young is a principal TA consultant at AIR with over 20 years of experience in public policy, program management, and technical assistance in the workforce development field. She is an accomplished director with extensive experience designing and leading high-profile projects, complex technical assistance initiatives, and large-scale grants and contracts. Young manages AIR’s apprenticeship portfolio of projects through business development, eminence building, and talent recruitment. She also brings her apprenticeship expertise and technical assistance skills to multiple projects at the national and state levels designed to advance and diversify apprenticeship as a talent development solution. Young also provides senior direction and subject matter expertise for projects focused on the public workforce system, Workforce innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) programs, and other workforce development topics.

Prior to her current role at AIR, Young was a program manager at Maher & Maher for six years until AIR’s acquisition of the company in 2020. In this position, she provided technical assistance consulting to federal and state government clients on a range of topics, including WIOA implementation and apprenticeship training. Young managed the growth of a portfolio of work through business development, client management, and talent recruitment.

Prior to Maher & Maher, Young worked at the U.S. Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration for 12 years where she held multiple roles focused on the public workforce system. Her roles included serving as program manager for national workforce development programs focused on underserved populations, policy advisor to the Assistant Secretary of the Employment and Training Administration, and team lead for the agency’s policy and legislative activities.
