Christina Davis

Senior Researcher

Christina Davis is a senior researcher at AIR focusing on National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) assessment operations (AO). As deputy project director of NAEP AO, her primary responsibilities include providing expertise in cognitive and survey questionnaire item development, assessment design and operations, digitally based assessment platform considerations, and item performance analysis. She is currently AIR’s content area lead for the development of the NAEP reading and writing assessments and she has over a decade of experience supporting the development of NAEP’s reading, writing, civics, U.S. history, and geography assessments. 

Outside of NAEP, Davis specializes in K–12 literacy/ELA education research and development activities. She is a certified training consultant and has led external training institutes for the Peer Assisted Learning Strategies (PALS) Reading program for grades K, 1, and 2–6. Additionally, she supports the evaluation of standards, curricula, and assessment alignment, most recently providing ELA expertise to the Maryland College and Career Readiness Study project to conduct an alignment review between the Maryland CCR standards and community college syllabi. Previously, Davis was an elementary literacy Response to Instruction and Intervention (RtII) Specialist.
