Frank Fonseca
Frank Fonseca is a researcher at AIR. In his current position, Fonseca serves as the project leader for the Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS). In this role, he provides technical support and solutions for the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) at various stages of the assessment cycle, including assessment item reviews, technical reviews, data analysis, data dissemination, report development, and at national research coordinator international meetings. He also supports his team on several other large-scale international studies, including the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS), the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA), and the Teaching and Learning International Survey (TALIS).
Fonseca also is serving as a logistics and technical support expert for the highly attended and growing Research on International Studies in Education (RISE) Webinar Series, organized by AIR. He has extensive technical experience in data file development, with more than eight years of data file review experience using Excel, SPSS, the IEA IDB Analyzer, and the International Data Explorer (IDE) tool.
Prior to his work at AIR, Fonseca was a staff teaching and research assistant at the University of Maryland, College Park.
