Yinmei Wan is a senior researcher at AIR. She has expertise in designing and implementing rigorous educational research and evaluation projects. Dr. Wan has played integral roles in various research projects around educator quality. She works on the Regional Educational Laboratory (REL) Midwest team and leads the research effort for the Educator Effectiveness Research Alliance. Dr. Wan leads the teacher outcomes and implementation fidelity studies of two Investing in Innovation Fund grants: the evaluation of TNTP’s Teacher Effectiveness and Certification Initiative and the evaluation of eMINTS’ Expansion Project. She is a What Works Clearinghouse (WWC) certified reviewer. She has extensive experience in analyzing large and complex educational datasets, including datasets from large urban districts, state, and national data sets.
Dr. Wan’s other areas of expertise include state data systems, data use, school turnaround, and international and comparative education. She received training from top research methodologists at the Institute of Education Sciences–sponsored Randomized Controlled Trials Summer Institute in 2013 and Workshops on Quasi-Experimental Design and Analysis in Education in 2011. Dr. Wan is proficient in several analytical packages, including HLM, SPSS, R, STATA, mPLUS, and Nvivo.
