AIR Vice President Timothy Hill Appointed to the Medicaid and CHIP Payment Access Commission

Timothy Hill, vice president for client engagement in AIR’s Health Division, has been appointed to the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC) by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO). The Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) Reauthorization Act of 2009 established MACPAC to review Medicaid and CHIP access and payment policies and to advise Congress on issues affecting Medicaid and CHIP.  

Gene L. Dodaro, Comptroller General of the United States and head of the U.S. GAO, announced the appointment of Hill and five other health experts and practitioners to the MACPAC on Monday, May 1. Hill’s term lasts through April 2026.  

An experienced federal health policy expert, Hill has led diverse teams in developing and implementing health policy solutions. He has a 25-year track record of successful interactions with executive branch, Congress, oversight agencies, and the media. Hill is a recognized expert in the health policy community as a strong communicator who brings a risk-based, solutions-oriented mindset to problem solving and policy development.
