AIR’s Communications Work Wins Prestigious National Award

Washington, D.C. – Patrick Riccards, executive director of Communications and Public Affairs for the American Institutes for Research (AIR), has been selected as the Professional of the Year in the nonprofit category by the 2011 Bulldog Stars of PR Awards in recognition of the exemplary communications efforts by AIR.

Riccards was honored with the Gold Award for Outstanding Achievement by Communications Agencies and Professionals. The winners represent “the very best strategic and tactical prowess that PR/corporate communications has to offer,” the judges said.

“This is a tribute to the corporate and programmatic communications team here at AIR, and I am honored and privileged to accept this recognition on behalf of my colleagues,” Riccards said.

The winners were chosen by a panel of working journalists who made their selections “on the basis of their ability to achieve extraordinary visibility and influence opinion, as well as on their creativity, command of media and technology, and tenacity.”

The annual awards are presented by Bulldog Reporter, which publishes the Daily 'Dog online trade journal, the PR/communication industry's largest circulation publication, and is the industry's premier provider of professional development events and materials.
