American Institutes for Research Staff Participate in Annual Conference of the Education Writers Association

Washington, D.C. – Staff from the American Institutes for Research will participate in the annual conference of the Education Writers Association (EWA) April 7-9, 2011, in New Orleans, La. The association represents journalists throughout the United States who cover education issues.

Thursday, April 7

Using Social Media to Convey Your Message
Patrick Riccards, executive director of Communications and Public Affairs at AIR, will offer tips on essential marketing tools such as using Twitter and blogging.

Saturday, April 9
8:00 – 9:15 am
Where Do We Stand? America’s Ranking in the World
Gary Phillips, vice president and chief scientist at AIR, offers comments on where America stacks up with the rest of the world on test scores and other international benchmarks, and what the rankings mean.
