Business Leader Kathy McKinless Joins AIR’s Board of Directors

Washington, D.C. - Kathy J. McKinless, a business leader with an extensive background in public accounting in the not-for-profit sector and financial services industry, has joined the Board of Directors of the American Institutes for Research, a leader in the behavioral and social sciences.

“We are delighted that Kathy is contributing her insights and guidance to AIR,” said Sol H. Pelavin, president and CEO of the nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C. “Her contributions to our recent June meeting were extraordinarily useful.”

McKinless served as a partner in the firm of KPMG LLP, a leading accounting and financial services company, until her retirement in 2003. At KPMG, she coordinated audit services and made final decisions on audit issues.

She earned her B.S. and M.B.A. from the University of South Carolina, where she was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Society. She is a consultant to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington, D.C. and provides volunteer services to a variety of organizations, including the Girl Scouts of the Nation’s Capital, The Nonprofit Roundtable, and Catholic Charities U.S.A.
