Dwight Carmichael Joins American Institutes for Research As Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Washington, D.C. - Dwight L. Carmichael, an experienced financial executive, has been appointed Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the American Institutes for Research, a nonprofit behavioral and social science research organization based in Washington, D.C.

Carmichael will be responsible for financial operations at AIR, which had revenues of more than $250 million in 2006. He will report to AIR President and Chief Executive Officer Sol H. Pelavin. "I look forward to receiving Dwight's strategic and operational guidance and insights as AIR continues to expand its capacity and impact," Pelavin said.

Carmichael has more than 25 years of experience serving in significant financial management roles in a range of industries. Prior to joining AIR, he was the Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of DCS Corporation, a privately owned government contractor. He also served as Vice President of Finance and Administration for the Computer Sciences Corporation, a provider of IT services.
