ASSISTments is a free, online formative assessment platform with which teachers can easily assign students math problems from textbooks, existing item banks, or items they have developed on their own. ASSISTments continually assesses students as they solve math problems and provide immediate feedback. Computer-generated reports provide teachers with information to make real-time adjustments to their instruction.

Prior evidence found that ASSISTments significantly improved student outcomes on a standardized math assessment, with larger effects for low-achieving students. AIR implemented a multi-site, clustered randomized trial with schools in geographically and culturally diverse settings across the U.S. to examine whether the results from the prior efficacy study generalized to a more culturally and geographically diverse set of schools.
