Evaluation of the TEACh Initiative
AIR is conducting the independent evaluation of The New Teacher Project’s Teacher Effectiveness and Certification (TEACh) Initiative. The initiative focuses on preparing teachers for high-needs placements in urban schools and includes pre-service training, in-service training, and assessments of teacher effectiveness.
The AIR evaluation examines impacts of the TEACh Initiative on student achievement and teacher classroom practice using a quasi-experimental evaluation design in seven urban district sites. The evaluation also examines the fidelity of implementation of the initiative by The New Teacher Project.
The TEACh Initiative is supported by a five-year (2010-2015) Investing in Innovation validation grant from the U.S. Department of Education.
