Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation Regional Centers of Excellence

Providing all students with equitable access to advanced degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) is one of the nation's greatest education priorities and challenges. Despite years of research, investments, and programming focused on recruiting and retaining historically underrepresented groups of students in STEM postsecondary pathways, notable disparities in STEM graduate school enrollment and attainment remain.

AIR partnered with Fisk and Vanderbilt Universities to research and disseminate information about the Fisk-Vanderbilt Master’s-to-PhD Bridge Program, an initiative that supports diversity and inclusion in STEM. The overarching goal of this grant was to generate and share knowledge about best practices to promote broad participation of students who are underrepresented within the higher education community.
