Txt4College is a text messaging nudge intervention designed for students entering and attending community colleges and universities. Text messages are sent to students who have begun various processes in enrolling in college, such as completing an application, the FAFSA, and registering for classes. The messages remind students to complete these tasks and often include links, deadlines, and other important information.

AIR conducted a rigorous cost study of the Txt4College program to understand the per-student cost of implementation and explore how that cost varied by implementation decisions (e.g., staff configurations, text message development process) and scale. The cost study leveraged interviews with college admissions staff and extant pricing sources to estimate per-student costs.
