Bhash Abeysinghe

Bhashithe Abeysinghe specializes in artificial intelligence-adjacent research for the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP). His work focuses on leveraging process data to enhance educational measurement through advanced computer science methods. An expert in machine learning, natural language processing, and large language models, Dr. Abeysinghe has significantly contributed to the field with his innovative research and practical applications.

Dr. Abeysinghe’s research has been featured at conferences such as NCME, AEFP, APPAM, FCSM, and IAEA. His work has been published in journals such as SIGIR, IEJEE, and JMEEP, showcasing his commitment to advancing the field of AI and education. Notable publications include studies on decoding student insights in NAEP mathematics and the development of generative AI assistants for querying assessment information.

Prior to AIR, Dr. Abeysinghe was a lecturer at the Statistics and Computer Science Department at the University of Peradeniya.
