Brittany Sterrett

Brittany Sterrett provides technical assistance, professional development, and research support to state education agencies and school districts in the areas of special education and multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS). Her work focuses on improving academic, behavioral, and social-emotional outcomes for students with disabilities through the implementation and adaptation of evidence-based practices and intensive interventions.

Dr. Sterrett designs and delivers professional learning and coaching for educators and school leaders, with an emphasis on specially designed instruction and individualized supports. She is passionate about supporting educators at all levels in strengthening instructional practices for students with disabilities. Currently, Dr. Sterrett supports the Lead IDEA Center by delivering intensive technical assistance and leadership coaching to school administrators. She also contributed to a large-scale, IES-funded research project evaluating transition supports for youth with disabilities.

Before joining AIR, Dr. Sterrett was a special education teacher in Virginia and a scholar with the National Center for Leadership in Intensive Intervention.
