German Reyes

Labor Rights Technical Director

German Reyes is a renowned labor expert in Mexico, with more than 15 years of experience as a labor lawyer and consultant. He has provided legal representation to workers, unions, and the private sector in the country. Reyes is presently AIR’s Labor Rights Technical Director, leading a team of legal experts who support the full AIR portfolio of labor- and workforce- related projects in Mexico.

Prior to joining AIR, Reyes was a consultant to several Mexican government entities, such as the Mexico City Human Rights Commission, the Research and Higher Education Center, and the federal labor ministry, as well as to civil society organizations such as the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, the NGO Ashoka, the Red de Mujeres Sindicalistas (The Network of Trade Union Women), dedicated to eradicating discrimination and inequality in the workplace, and the SmartFish NGO whose mission is sustainable fishing and fair compensation to fishery workers.

Reyes is a Labor Law Professor at the National Autonomous University (UNAM) and Universidad Iberoamericana, where he is completing his doctorate in Law.
