Whitney Rostad

Senior Researcher

Whitney Rostad is a senior researcher in the Youth, Family, and Community Development program at AIR. Her primary responsibilities include conducting research to identify effective community-, society-, and policy-level strategies to prevent violence, with a focus on preventing child maltreatment. Dr. Rostad also provides technical assistance to partners to identify, implement, and evaluate effective policies, programs, and practices to prevent violence and promote health and well-being of children, families, and communities.

Her expertise is in a public health approach to the prevention of child abuse and neglect and promoting the social, structural, and economic conditions that support child and family health and well-being. Previously, Dr. Rostad was a human services associate with Abt Associates, director of research services at Casey Family Programs, and a behavioral scientist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Division of Violence Prevention.
