American Institutes for Research Experts to Share Insights on Equity, Evidence Synthesis and Climate Change at the 2023 What Works Global Summit

A multidisciplinary team of experts from the American Institutes for Research (AIR) will participate in the 2023 What Works Global Summit (WWGS) from October 18–20 in Ottawa, Canada. This year’s conference theme, Evidence for Global Challenges, aligns closely with AIR’s commitment to generating evidence that can be used by global leaders to improve practices, build capacity, and address equity gaps. The conference also closely aligns with the institution’s expertise in designing and implementing evidence syntheses and impact evaluations, both globally and in the United States.

AIR-affiliated presentations will cover a range of topics, including the future of evidence synthesis in interconnected areas such as the sustainable development goals, climate change, health, agriculture, knowledge translation and disability research; equity in evidence synthesis; and women’s economic empowerment. Each year, the WWGS convenes thousands of experts to discuss global approaches to evidence-based decision-making, innovative research methods, new tools for evidence synthesis, and a joint commitment to creating a better, more equitable world.
