Addressing workforce shortages in underserved communities through sustainable employment and occupational training programs is an important strategy to confront disparities in health outcomes faced by these communities.

AIR is partnered with Social Policy Research Associates to provide programmatic and performance management technical assistance (TA) to help H-1B One Workforce and H-1B Rural Healthcare grantees achieve project success across a variety of industries. (H-1B is a temporary visa for foreign workers in specialty occupations.)

Our comprehensive TA strategy includes:

  • Customized coaching to help grantees problem-solve and refine strategies;
  • Peer learning and knowledge sharing opportunities such as monthly grantee peer calls to facilitate real-time problem-solving and periodic discussions on promising strategies;
  • Tools and resources that provide information and templates related to strategy assessment; strategy development; progress tracking; and participant support; and
  • Quarterly performance monitoring to identify challenges for which TA staff can provide remediation and strategic assistance.
