Medicare Coverage Tools—Part D Enrollment
Providing a central place online to view, compare, and select prescription drug and health plans can help ensure Medicare beneficiaries make more informed choices. As a subcontractor to Ad Hoc, AIR is supporting the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in developing online tools for Medicare beneficiaries to use when selecting Medicare health plans (Part C) and prescription drug plans (Part D).
The project centers on replacing the existing Medicare Plan Finder system that enables beneficiaries to find, compare, and ultimately enroll in coverage. The new features and functionality, collectively referred to as Medicare Coverage Tools, are described by CMS as a best-of-breed plan comparison and shopping digital user experience, with strong support for modern use cases like mobile accessibility/responsive design and third-party application program interface, or API, integrations delivered iteratively according to a multi-year product development roadmap. AIR provides subject matter expertise for the drug pricing algorithm and process development as well as subject matter expertise on Medigap and health policy and data analysis.
