Evaluation for Improvement: Making the Case for Competency-Based Education

Evaluation for Improvement is the second in a four-part series designed to help institutions use data to demonstrate the value of competency-based education (CBE) programs for their students and continuously improve program quality. In this webinar, participants learned the fundamentals of two continuous quality improvement models—Root Cause Analysis and the Plan-Do-Study-Act cycle—and how they applied to improvement within the context of CBE program. Specific examples were provided, along with how experiments can be included in CQI initiatives to build the most rigorous possible evidence for an improvement having been effective. We invite you to download the slides, which provide examples of tools that can be directly applied to your work, or watch the hour-long recording for a fully narrated version of the webinar contents.
